How to Use the AI Contract Builder to Draft Legal Agreements

The AI Contract Builder helps you create a reusable first draft by discussing the agreement with Peel, Banana's AI assistant. Peel gathers the important details, drafts the clauses and creates fillable fields before opening the result in the contract editor.

Legal note: AI-generated content is general informational assistance, not legal advice. Laws and requirements vary by jurisdiction. Review every draft carefully and ask a qualified lawyer to review important agreements before you rely on them.

Start a new contract template

  1. Open Contracts from the main menu.
  2. Click New template. If this is your first template, click Create your first contract template.
  3. Choose Let AI design your contract.
  4. If Banana Cards asks you to set up your AI Brain, complete it for more relevant company context or choose to proceed without it.

Tell Peel what you need

Describe the agreement in plain language. Include:

  • The type of agreement, such as an NDA, service agreement, employment contract or consulting agreement
  • The parties involved
  • The country or jurisdiction
  • Payment terms, dates and renewal rules
  • Deliverables, responsibilities and important restrictions
  • Any clauses you know must be included

Peel will ask follow-up questions until it has enough information to prepare a draft. You can also attach reference images or PDF files when they contain useful terms or structure.

Generate the template

When the requirements are ready, Peel starts generating the contract. Keep the window open while Banana Cards:

  1. Understands the requirements
  2. Outlines the clauses
  3. Drafts the legal language
  4. Adds fillable fields
  5. Polishes the formatting

Generation can take up to a minute. If it fails, use the retry option rather than starting the conversation again.

Review the result

After generation, Banana Cards opens the contract editor. Before saving or sending:

  • Read every clause from beginning to end.
  • Confirm names, dates, amounts, notice periods and governing law.
  • Check that all fillable variables are correctly placed.
  • Remove any clause that does not match the real agreement.
  • Add language required by your lawyer or local regulations.

The finished template stays in Contracts, where you can edit it, organize it into a category and reuse it for future recipients.

If you already have a contract

From Create contract template, choose Upload a PDF instead. Banana Cards converts the PDF into an editable, fillable template. Give it an optional template name, choose the file and click Create template.
