How to Sync Your Google Calendar for Bookings

Connecting Google Calendar keeps your Banana Cards bookings and your real schedule in one place. Once it's connected, customers can only book times when you're actually free, new bookings appear in your Google Calendar automatically, and services can generate Google Meet links on their own.

What syncing does

  • Availability respects your busy times: events already in your Google Calendar block those slots on your booking page, so nobody can double-book you.
  • Bookings sync to your Google Calendar: every confirmed booking is added to your calendar with the customer's details.
  • Google Meet links generated automatically: services that use Google Meet as their location get a unique meeting link at booking time.

Note: Calendar sync is part of Integrations, which are available on paid plans. If you're on the Free plan you'll be asked to upgrade before you can connect.

Step 1: Connect your Google account

  1. Open Bookings from the main menu.
  2. In the sidebar under Google Calendars, click Sync your calendar (you can also connect from the Integrations page).
  3. Next to Google Calendar, click Connect.
  4. Sign in with the Google account that holds your work calendar and allow the requested calendar permissions.
  5. You'll return to Banana Cards and see a Google Calendar connected confirmation.

Step 2: Make sure your availability is set

Google Calendar tells Banana Cards when you're busy — your weekly hours tell it when you're bookable. Customers can only book inside your weekly hours and outside your Google events. If you haven't set hours yet, see How to Set Your Weekly Availability and Block Time Off.

Step 3: Use Google Meet on your services (optional)

  1. Go to Bookings and open a service (or create a new one).
  2. In the location settings, choose Google Meet.
  3. Save the service.

A Google Meet link is generated from the host's Google Calendar at booking time, so every team member assigned to the service needs their own connected Google account. If someone hasn't connected yet, the service editor will warn you — ask them to connect, pick a different team member, or choose another location.

Team calendars

Each team member connects their own Google Calendar from their own login. Bookings assigned to a team member only check and update that person's calendar, which keeps team availability accurate without sharing calendars between people.

Disconnecting

  1. Open Sync your calendar again.
  2. Click Disconnect next to Google Calendar and confirm.

Synced events are removed from Banana Cards and the connection is revoked. Existing bookings stay in your Banana Cards calendar, but new Google Meet links can't be created until you reconnect.

Troubleshooting

  • A busy time still shows as bookable: check that the event is on the calendar of the Google account you connected and isn't marked as "Free" in Google.
  • No Google Meet link on a booking: confirm the assigned host has a connected Google account and the service location is set to Google Meet.
  • Times look shifted: check your timezone under Language & timezone in your account settings — bookings and availability use it everywhere.
  • Outlook Calendar: Outlook / Office 365 sync is coming soon.
