How to Set Up Paid Appointments and Consultations
Use a paid appointment service when clients book dedicated time with you, such as a consultation, coaching session, review, or advisory call.
Create the appointment
- Open Bookings or Calendar in your Banana workspace.
- Select the + icon or New service.
- Choose Appointment.
- In Service details, enter a specific client-facing name, such as “60-minute strategy consultation.”
- Explain what is included, who the session is for, and what the client should prepare.
- Set the duration and any buffer time you need afterward.
Add the price
- Open Pricing & payment.
- Select Paid.
- Under Payment preference, choose Pay offline.
- Enter the price and select the correct currency.
The price must be greater than zero before you can continue.
Online payment collection for booking services is coming soon. For now, Pay offline means you collect payment by cash, bank transfer, or in person. You can then update the client’s payment status from the booking records.
Assign the right person
Open Assignees and select at least one team member who can deliver the consultation. Banana uses the selected assignees and their availability to determine which times can be offered.
If the consultation takes place on Google Meet, the assigned person must connect their Google Calendar so Banana can generate the meeting link. Zoom appointments require a connected Zoom account.
Choose where the appointment happens
In Locations, select at least one option. Depending on your setup, this may be:
- An in-person address
- A phone call
- Zoom
- Google Meet
- Another agreed location or meeting method
Make the location instructions clear so clients know what to expect after booking.
Control when clients can book
Use your booking schedule to set recurring weekly hours and date overrides for holidays or one-off changes. In Booking preferences, set rules such as how far ahead clients can book and how much notice you require. Connected calendars help prevent clients from choosing times when an assignee is unavailable.
Collect the information you need
Open Booking form and add the questions needed to prepare for the consultation. Useful examples include:
- The main topic they want to discuss
- Their company or project
- A website or document link
- Accessibility or meeting requirements
If you prefer to approve each request, configure Booking requests rather than confirming every appointment automatically.
Save and test the booking flow
Save the service, open its shareable link, and complete a test booking. Confirm that:
- The duration and price are correct
- Available times match the assigned person’s calendar
- The location is clear
- Required questions appear correctly
- Confirmation details contain the right timezone and meeting instructions
When everything is correct, share the service link or add the service to a branded Booking Page.
