How to Create a Contract Template from a PDF

Already have a contract? Upload the PDF. Banana turns it into a fillable, signable template you can reuse.

Upload your PDF

  1. Open Contracts and select New template.
  2. Choose Upload a PDF.
  3. Drop your PDF or click to browse.
  4. Add a Template name (optional), for example "Mutual NDA".
  5. Select Create template.

What Banana AI does

Banana AI reads your PDF, understands the clauses, structures the sections and identifies variables. Variables are the fields that change each time, like the client's name, date or price.

This takes a moment. Keep the page open.

Check and save

  1. Review the text in the editor.
  2. Open Variables to rename, reorder, add or delete fields.
  3. Use Edit with AI for quick changes.
  4. Select Save to templates.

If it fails

  • Could not read any text from this PDF: the PDF is probably a scan (an image). Upload a text PDF instead.
  • If processing fails, try again, or choose Let AI design your contract to start from a conversation.
