Understanding Team Roles: Owner, Admin, and Member Permissions
Understanding the different team roles—Owner, Admin, and Member—is crucial for maintaining control over your workspace's security and data. Assigning the correct permissions ensures your team collaborates efficiently while protecting sensitive administrative settings.
This guide breaks down the three user roles available in your workspace and details their respective permission levels.
Owner Role
The Owner holds the highest level of authority within a workspace. The user who initially creates the workspace is automatically assigned this role.
Capabilities
- Full, unrestricted access to all pages and features.
- Ability to manage billing and delete the workspace.
- Can invite, edit, or remove any team member.
Restrictions
- A workspace can only have one active Owner at a time.
- The Owner cannot be removed from the team by any other user.
Admin Role
The Admin role is ideal for managers or trusted team leaders who need to oversee the platform but do not manage billing.
Capabilities
- Unrestricted access to all workspace pages by default.
- Can invite new users and remove existing users (excluding the Owner).
- Can edit the roles of standard Members.
Restrictions
- Cannot delete the workspace or remove the Owner.
- Permissions cannot be limited to specific pages due to their top-level access.
Member Role
The Member role is the standard permission level for general employees, sales representatives, or event staff.
Capabilities
- Can view and interact only with sections explicitly granted by an Owner or Admin.
Restrictions
- Cannot invite new users, remove team members, or edit workspace settings.
- Access is controlled through granular page permissions.
Granular Page Access for Members
When assigning the "Member" role, you can customize their dashboard view using individual toggle switches. This allows for precise control over what team members can see and access.
Configurable Workspace Modules
You can grant or revoke access to the following workspace modules:
- Networking & CRM: Contacts, Business Cards, and Scout
- Scheduling: Calendar, Bookings, and Smart Meetings
- Productivity: Tasks, Pipelines (Workflows), and Automations
- Content: Templates, Media Library, and Contracts
- Platform Tools: Events, Reviews, Call Agents (Voice Agents), and Integrations
If a toggle switch for a specific module is turned off for a Member, that page will be completely hidden from their navigation menu, and they will be unable to access its associated data.
