Personal vs Team Workspaces Explained

A workspace holds your business cards, contacts, bookings, templates and everything else. You can see which workspace you are in at the top of the sidebar, labelled Personal, TEAM or EVENT.

Personal workspace

A workspace just for you. It stays free on the Lite plan, and nobody else can see its content. Ideal for freelancers or for trying Banana.

Team workspace

A shared workspace where your teammates work together. It adds:

  • Inviting members with Owner, Admin or Member roles
  • Page access control for each member
  • Shared templates and brand assets, so every card stays on brand
  • Managing business cards for the whole team

Team workspaces need the Teams plan. Seats are pooled across every team workspace you own.

Event workspace

Created automatically when you run an event, for example as an exhibitor's team. It is temporary. To keep it, select Keep this workspace forever before it expires, and it becomes a permanent team workspace.

Switching between types

  • Personal to team: open Workspace settings and select Change to team or Upgrade to team. If you are already on the Teams plan, there are no billing changes.
  • Team to personal: you can downgrade back to personal at any time from the workspace settings.

Data stays separate

Nothing moves between workspaces automatically. A contact saved in your personal workspace is not visible in a team workspace.
