Who Can Access and Edit the AI Brain?

The AI Brain is the central intelligence engine of your Banana Cards workspace. It stores company context, guidelines, terminology rules, and document data models to ensure that every generated contract aligns with your brand. Because the AI Brain fundamentally shapes how automation behaves, managing access is critical for maintaining consistency and compliance.

The Permission Matrix

Access to the AI Brain is tied directly to your team member's workspace role. The system enforces strict boundaries between users who can modify training models and those who rely on them for document generation.

Detailed Access Workflows

1. Workspace Owners & Admins: Full Control

Owners and Admins have complete control over training weights and active knowledge bases.

  • Workflow: Navigate to the AI Settings tab in the sidebar.
  • Action: Click Update Knowledge Model to open a slide-out drawer. Here, you can upload PDFs, rulebooks, or code-level variables to retrain the underlying contextual brain.

2. Editors: Usage and Observation

Editors can interact with templates that draw from the AI Brain but cannot manipulate core system knowledge.

  • Workflow: When an Editor visits AI Settings, the interface defaults to a read-only view.
  • Action: While they can inspect active training sets, all "Save," "Delete," or "Train" buttons are disabled.

3. Viewers: Restricted Access

Viewers do not have access to the structural backend.

  • Workflow: The AI Settings option is hidden from the main navigation menu.
  • Action: Viewers can generate documents using active templates but have no exposure to the AI's configuration layers.

Updating Team Member Permissions

If a team member requires elevated access to manage AI Brain constraints, an Admin can update their permissions by following these steps:

  1. Click your Profile Avatar in the top right corner.
  2. Select Workspace Settings from the dropdown menu.
  3. Navigate to the Team Management tab.
  4. Locate the user in the roster and click the Manage Role dropdown.
  5. Select Admin or Owner.
  6. Click the green Save Permissions button.

Note: Once saved, the system pushes a live update across the data pipeline. The user will see the AI Settings panel unlocked upon their next dashboard refresh.
