How to Create and Price Booking Services

Booking services turn the time you offer into clear options that clients can schedule themselves. Each service can have its own duration, price, availability, location, team members, and booking questions.

Before you start

Decide what the client is booking and how long it normally takes. For example:

  • A 30-minute discovery call
  • A 60-minute consultation
  • A recurring group class
  • A multi-session course

If several team members deliver the service, make sure their calendars and availability are ready before you publish it.

Create a service

  1. Open Bookings or Calendar in your Banana workspace.
  2. Select the + icon or New service.
  3. Choose an Appointment, Class, or Course.
  4. In Service details, add a clear name, tagline, description, duration, and optional image.
  5. Add buffer time after the appointment if you need time for notes, travel, or preparation.

Use a client-facing name. “Initial tax consultation” is clearer than an internal label such as “Consultation A.” New services are saved as drafts while you complete their setup.

Set the price

Open Pricing & payment.

For appointments and courses, choose:

  • Free — clients can book without a charge.
  • Paid — enter a fixed price and select the currency.

For classes, you can offer:

  • A free trial for one session
  • Pay per session
  • Session Packs with a custom name, number of sessions, and total price

Drag session packs into the order you want clients to see them. When a single-session price is set, Banana can also show the saving offered by a pack.

Online payment collection for booking services is not available yet. Paid services currently use Pay offline for cash, bank transfer, or payment in person. The booking records the amount due so you can manage its payment status.

Set availability and capacity

The available settings depend on the service type.

  • For an appointment, assign at least one team member. Their connected calendar and availability determine the times a client can choose.
  • For a class or course, add at least one schedule. Set its dates, recurrence, capacity, and waitlist options where applicable.
  • For a course, review the included sessions and enrollment deadline.

Add at least one location, such as an in-person address, phone call, Zoom, or Google Meet. Google Meet requires the assigned team member to have a connected Google Calendar.

Configure the booking experience

Use the remaining sections to control the client journey:

  • Booking preferences for notice periods and booking windows
  • Booking form for the information you need from the client
  • Booking requests if you want to review requests before confirmation
  • Gallery for supporting service images

Save and share the service

Complete the required sections, then save the service. Banana will alert you if a required name, price, schedule, assignee, or location is missing.

Share one service directly from its Share option, or create a Booking Page that groups several services under one branded link.

Tips for clearer services

  • Put the outcome in the service name and description.
  • Keep the duration realistic, including time for questions.
  • Use buffer time rather than shortening the client’s appointment.
  • Explain what clients should prepare before the meeting.
  • Test the public booking link before sending it to clients.
