How to Password Protect Your Digital Business Card (Set a PIN Code)

Learn how to secure your digital business card and keep your contact information private by setting up a 4-digit PIN code lock.

Sometimes you want to share your digital business card only with a select few, such as VIP clients, investors, or exclusive networking groups. By enabling the PIN Code feature, you can lock your profile behind a secure 4-digit passcode. Anyone who visits your link or scans your QR code will be prompted to enter this PIN before they can view your details or exchange contact information.

Step 1: Access Your Networking Tools

To begin securing your profile, follow these steps to locate the privacy settings:

  1. Log into your dashboard and select the specific digital business card you want to secure.
  2. Open the Networking Tools menu.
  3. Locate the Protect Your Card section (featuring a padlock icon) and click the Create Your PIN button.

Step 2: Set Your 4-Digit Code

Once the PIN Code modal opens, you will see four empty input boxes ready for your passcode.

  1. Enter your code: Type in your desired 4-digit numeric code.
    • Note: You can copy a 4-digit number and paste it directly into the first box; the system will automatically fill all four slots for you.
  2. Save: Once all four digits are entered, the Set PIN button will activate.
  3. Confirm: Click Set PIN to save your changes. A green success notification will appear at the top of your screen, confirming your card is now locked.

How to Edit or Remove an Existing PIN

If you need to change your passcode or make your digital business card public again, updates take only a few seconds:

  1. Return to the Networking Tools menu and click Edit Your PIN.
  2. To Change It: Type a new 4-digit number over the existing one and click Update PIN.
  3. To Remove It: Click the gray Remove PIN button at the bottom of the modal. This instantly deletes the passcode and makes your digital business card fully accessible to the public again.

The Visitor Experience (UX)

When you share a protected card, your connections will experience the following flow:

  • Access: They scan your QR code or click your profile link.
  • Lock Screen: Instead of your standard layout, they are greeted by a sleek, branded lock screen.
  • Authentication: They must type in the correct 4-digit PIN you provided them.
  • Unlock: Upon entering the correct PIN, the card reveals your contact information, links, and Lead Capture form.

Pro Tip

If you are attending a private event or mastermind group, set a memorable PIN (like the event year or room number). You can announce the PIN to the room before displaying your QR code, ensuring that only the attendees in that specific room get access to your profile!
