Scan Physical Business Cards Using AI

Stop manually typing contact information from networking events. This guide shows you how to use an AI-powered scanner to instantly digitize physical business cards directly into your CRM.

Accessing the AI Card Scanner

The AI Card Scanner is easily accessible from most areas of the platform.

From the Dashboard

1. Locate the Quick actions button (a green circle with a plus icon) in the top right corner of the main navigation header.
2. Click the button to open the quick actions dropdown menu.
3. Select the option to add a contact via the AI scanner. The Card Scanner window will open.

Capturing Your Business Card Image

Once the scanner window is open, you can input your business card in two ways:

Use Your Camera

If you're on a mobile device or a computer with a webcam:

1. Place the business card on a flat, well-lit surface.
2. Position your camera or webcam over the card.
3. Snap a clear photo.

Upload an Existing Image

If you have already photographed the card:

1. Click the Upload option within the scanner window.
2. Select an existing image file (JPG, PNG) from your device's gallery.

AI Processing and Review

AI Scan and Data Extraction

After submitting the image, the platform's AI engine analyzes it:

• It uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and intelligent identification to read the card.
• The AI extracts and categorizes text into the correct fields: First Name, Last Name, Job Title, Company, Phone Number, Email Address, and Website.

Verify and Save Contact Information

Review the extracted data, which populates a standard contact form:

• Important: Always double-check the fields for accuracy. Complex fonts, foil stamping, or unusual layouts on physical cards can sometimes challenge OCR.
• If all details are correct, click Save to add the new contact to your database.

Important Note on AI Usage

The AI Card Scanner leverages advanced AI vision models. Each successful scan counts towards your workspace's monthly AI Enhancements usage limits. You can monitor your remaining scans in your Billing & Plan settings.
