How to Add Speakers and Speaker Profiles to Your Event
Speaker profiles introduce presenters to attendees and connect them to the sessions they lead. Each speaker can have a photo, professional details, biography, LinkedIn profile, linked agenda items, and a digital speaker pass.
Add a speaker
- Open Events and select your event.
- Open the event editor.
- Select Speakers.
- Choose Add speaker.
A speaker card is created. Replace “New speaker” with the speaker’s full name and complete the profile.
Complete the profile
Add:
- Full name
- Professional title or role
- Company or organization
- Short biography
- LinkedIn profile URL
- Headshot
Use a clear, recent portrait with the speaker centered. The image must be under 5 MB.
Write biographies in a consistent style. Two or three short sentences are usually enough: explain the speaker’s expertise, current role, and why their experience matters to the event.
Link the speaker to agenda items
Agenda items must exist before they can be linked.
- Create and save the relevant sessions in Agenda.
- Return to Speakers.
- Open Select linked agenda items on the speaker card.
- Select every session where the speaker is presenting.
A speaker can be connected to multiple items. Remove a selected item if the programme changes.
Review the public profile
Speaker profiles appear in the Speakers section of the public event page. Attendees can open a speaker to read the full biography and follow the LinkedIn link when one is provided.
Check that:
- Names and titles are spelled correctly
- Company names are current
- Headshots have consistent quality and framing
- LinkedIn links open the correct profiles
- Speakers are linked to the right sessions
Digital speaker passes
Each added speaker gets a digital speaker pass and can be referenced from agenda items. Keep the speaker record current so the pass and public information remain consistent.
Edit or remove a speaker
Changes are saved from the speaker card. To remove a profile, select the delete icon and confirm Remove speaker.
Removing a speaker cannot be undone. If the programme is still changing, consider updating the profile or agenda links instead.
Profile writing tips
- Use the name the speaker wants displayed publicly.
- Keep bios focused on event relevance rather than a full résumé.
- Ask permission to publish the speaker’s photo and links.
- Use complete LinkedIn URLs beginning with
https://. - Add agenda items first to make linking quick and accurate.
