How to Add, Update, or Remove a Payment Method

Keeping your billing information current is essential for uninterrupted access to your workspace subscriptions, such as Pro AI or Teams. You can easily manage your payment methods by adding new credit cards, updating your default payment option, or removing outdated cards directly from your account's billing settings.

Accessing Your Billing Settings

To manage your payment methods, you first need to navigate to the billing section of your account:

  1. Open the main navigation menu and click on Settings (the gear icon).
  2. In the submenu, select Billing. This action will open the Account Settings window, displaying your current subscription plan and your existing payment methods.

Adding a New Payment Method

Follow these steps to add a new credit card to your account:

  1. In the Billing window, scroll down to the Payment methods section.
  2. Click the Add card button, usually located on the right side of the section.
  3. Enter your new credit card details securely in the provided fields and click Save. Your new card will now appear in the list of available payment methods.

Updating Your Default Payment Method

If you have multiple payment methods on file, you can select which one should be used for your subscriptions:

  1. In the Payment methods list, locate the card you wish to designate as the default.
  2. Click the Set as default button next to that card.

The system will confirm your selection, and a "Default" badge with a checkmark will appear next to the card's details. Future subscription charges will automatically be processed using this card.

Removing a Payment Method

To remove an expired or unwanted credit card:

  1. Find the card you wish to remove in your payment methods list.
  2. Click the Trash icon located on the far right of the card's row.
  3. A confirmation prompt, "Remove card?", will appear. Click the red Remove card button to finalize the deletion. The card will then be permanently removed from your account.

Troubleshooting: Why Can't I Delete My Card?

If you are unable to remove a payment method, it might be because it's currently associated with an active subscription.

  • Card in Use: If a card displays a "Used for subscription" badge, you cannot delete it directly. You must first either add and set a new card as the default payment method or cancel your active subscription.
