Troubleshooting: Team Member Invite Email Not Received
If a team member hasn't received their invitation email, it can often be resolved quickly. Sometimes, corporate email firewalls or aggressive spam filters can block these automated invitations.
Fortunately, you can bypass email delivery issues and connect your team member immediately using a direct invite link.
Why Didn't the Email Arrive?
Before manually sharing a link, verify these common causes for a missed invitation:
- Typo in the Email Address: Double-check the spelling of the email address in your
Pending Inviteslist. - Spam/Junk Folder: Ask the recipient to check their Spam, Junk, or
Promotionsfolders for an email from our platform. - Corporate Firewalls: If the team member uses a corporate email address (e.g.,
@enterprise.com), their company's IT department might have blocked the automated message.
Manually Share the Direct Invite Link
When you create an invite, the platform generates a unique, secure URL for that specific user. You can copy this link and send it directly to your team member via Slack, Microsoft Teams, or your personal email.
Method 1: Copying Immediately After Creation
- Immediately after clicking
Create invite link, the confirmation window displays the direct URL. - Click the
Copybutton next to the link. - Paste the link into a direct message to your teammate. They will be prompted to join the workspace upon clicking it.
Method 2: Copying an Existing Pending Invite Link
If you already closed the invite window and the recipient reports not receiving the email, you can retrieve the link from your team settings:
- Navigate to your workspace settings and open the
Team memberswindow. - Scroll down to the
Pending Invitessection. - Locate the row corresponding to your teammate's email address.
- Click the
Copy linkbutton on the right side of their row. - Paste this secure link in a message to your colleague.
Cancel a Pending Invite
If you realize you entered the email address incorrectly, the invite link is associated with the wrong email. You'll need to cancel it to free up your paid team seat.
- In the
Team Managementwindow, scroll to thePending Invitessection. - If you are the workspace Owner, click the red
Cancelbutton (marked with a trash icon) next to the pending invite. - The invite will be deleted, allowing you to generate a new invitation with the correct email address.
